F-STOP To Success has been a photographic journey in the making. Despite having grown up in an artistic family, art was not a comfortable means of expression for me. Having a grandfather who painted with the Group of Seven definitely impacted my appreciation for art, however not my interest in making it. That was until my 10th birthday when my father gifted me my first camera. And from that day forward I was all things photography. Taking pictures quickly became my focus, my means of expression, and go to when times were tough. Being able to visually document my experiences and release my emotions on film was a godsend. The self-discovery and personal awareness that manifested through the act of taking pictures was invaluable. In fact, it is the reason why I am successful today. As a PhotoTherapy Specialist, Registered Art Therapist, and Professional Photographer I am now able to offer others the opportunity to benefit from photography and photographs just as I did. With courses in PhotoTherapy and Therapeutic Photography, students and practicing mental health professionals can now learn, grow, and blossom both personally and professionally.
F-STOP to Success offers in depth and interactive Online PhotoTherapy and Therapeutic Photography Courses that are designed for photography students, students enrolled in a mental health program, and already practicing mental health professionals.
The courses are 12 and 8 weeks in length, however they can also be completed at your own pace making them ideal for all lifestyles and schedules.
F-STOP to Success will walk you through what PhotoTherapy and Therapeutic Photography are, how they came to be, how they work, how to use them personally and professionally, and what concerns they work with and how.
With Modules broken down into Learning Lessons and Action Tasks, you’ll be sure to come away from these courses both knowledgeable and skilled.
F-STOP to Success will give you the visual foundation and confidence you need to improve your own photography, enhance your practice, and support clients of varying concerns.
My personal journey with photography and visual expression has positively impacted both my personal and professional life. It has shaped the way I see things, the experiences I have had, and the way I choose to respond to them.
Taking photographs has provided me with an outlet for thought and feeling, while looking at photographs has afforded me the opportunity to learn and grow.
It is through this growth that I am able to support my client’s confidently and effectively as they embark on their own visual journey’s.
